Elizabeth Steingass, Artist

Elizabeth Steingass is a formally trained and award-winning artist working primarily in watercolor, acrylic, and pencil. Her work consists of children’s book illustrations, home portraits, whimsical children’s murals, and holiday window art.

Elizabeth has been awarded a Merit Award for her piece, “Ghost Pumpkins”, in the Annual Autumn show with the Black Swamp Arts Center in Archbold, Ohio. She has also received an Honorable Mention in the Toledo Artists Club People and Portrait Show for her piece, “Man at Saint Ignace”. She has painted murals in private homes and corporate settings. Elizabeth’s commissioned works include pet and home portraits, two custom maps, as well as festival photo props, children’s murals, and a 16-foot barn quilt.

Elizabeth received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Artistic and Religious Studies from Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, MI. Her degree focused heavily on studio arts, specifically painting and drawing. While at Spring Arbor University, several of Elizabeth’s works were included in the end-of-semester student shows.

Elizabeth has been living and working in northwest Ohio, where she completes commissioned work, illustrates children’s books, and creates original works. She has written and illustrated three of her own children’s books, “ABC”, “Puppy Goes Potty”, and “Bear Worries”.
