Where have I been?

Hello! Long time no post! It’s been just shy of two years since I’ve posted anything on my site and a LOT has happened in those past two years. Grab a cup of coffee and let’s catch up!

When I last wrote, my family and I were living in Toledo and I was attending live art events in both the Toledo area and in southern Michigan. Not long after that last post, I put my art business on hold as we moved, got pregnant, and then added another child to our family. Anyone who has moved with kids and or added a child to their family knows that neither event is an easy feat! I needed some time to catch my breath from the move and the newest addition to our family. But now that we are coming up on my daughter’s first birthday, I’m ready to stretch my art muscles again.

Just before we moved in the fall of 2021, I started a very big and very secret project. I couldn’t share at the time but now it has been public for almost a year and I can tell you what I was working on. Throughout 2021 and 2022, I illustrated a children’s book! Trina Rogers hired me to illustrate her book, Bobo the Hungry Bear That Wouldn’t Share. It was an honor and a joy to illustrate her dream book.

Trina had her characters, their names, and their personalities all set and I had the joy of bringing them to life in full-page watercolor illustrations. I loved the character development process for each character. However, I have to say that Bobo and Mike were my favorite characters to work with.

Trina’s book is available through all major book retailers, including Barnes and Noble and Amazon.

Thank you, Trina, for choosing me to be your illustrator!
