Part of the requirements for my figure drawing course in college was to fill a sketchbook each semester. Our sketchbooks would be checked throughout the semester and our professor expected the pages to be full. When a sketchbook check was looming and my pages were more empty than full, where was I to turn? To my dear friend and roommate of course!

Shannon is one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met. Capturing her likeness was a privilege! She was a sweet model, apologizing for talking even though I was the one initiating much of the conversation. If she ever moved, she was able to go back to the exact same pose without any help.

It was a joy and an honor to capture Shannon on paper, although it pales in comparison to her beautiful soul.
